artists’ statement & bio:

The digital artwork of Crystal LaPoint – PhotoImpressions - embraces a dramatic range of styles. She digitally redefines her own original photographic images into unique fine art prints. All of the artist's prints are produced using museum quality materials, including 100% cotton stock and archival ink. In addition to her original artwork, Crystal has created a large number of commissioned designs, transforming her clients’ treasured photos into museum quality digital portraiture, landscapes and collages. A native of Pennsylvania, Crystal is a long time resident of Central New York. She attended Syracuse University, where she earned a BMus in Piano Performance, and MMus degrees in both Piano Performance and Musical Theory & Composition. She is a self-taught artist, as well as a professional pianist, published composer and poet, personal fitness trainer and a mother of three children.

In her role as Programs & Communications Associate for Vera House, Inc., Crystal has combined her love of the arts with her commitment to victims of domestic and sexual violence, by creating the agency’s innovative “Art of Caring” project. As a part of that project, the artist has produced a series of digital fine art posters, using her own photographs of artistic images created by Vera House clients in therapeutic workshops. Survivors’ Art has been exhibited at:
